we are squeezing two topics in one day since we don't on monday.
The Netherlands colonized Indonesia in 1603.
Causal relationship. Domino effect.
before, there were only Germanic states and than put together to form a german empire.

Ottoman empire is the last muslim empire. They attack the christian part and the pope called for help and the europeans just sent knights to keep them early in the 1180s and they just disappeared. then appear again.
-Domino effects
-emperor of Germany once said, ”our future lies upon the ocean.”
-the two countries race to build new battleships, this was called “race of the dreadnoughts”.
-1906, Britain launched the HMS DREADNOUGHT.
-everyone has their own alliances.
-the chain reaction: 28 july, Austria blames the Serbian due to the assassination.
29 july, Russia promise to protect Serbia and so they prepared lots of armies
1 august, the Germans heard about Russia’s preparation.

-large empire was important for trade and prestige.
-italy and Germany became united in the 1870s.
-competition between colonies caused conflicts.
-1900, britains navy was the largest in the world.
-july 1914, world war 1.

-What was the Prussian war, why is it a key point?
