Reflection sheets

We have learnt two chapter this year, which is chapter 20 and chapter 21.

The first chapter which is chapter 20 is about the "COUNTDOWN TO WAR" , this topic is divided into several topic.

The first one we are going to talk about is "The Stage Is Set For War I".

Fundamentally this topic talks about the beginning of war also the triple alliances/ triple entente. Back in 1900, almost everyone believes that for trade and prestige, you must colonize - the bigger the empire, the better. Everyone wants fame and be proud of their country. Then there was a competition for building armies in Europe. Germany was winning whilst the British ar desperately losing. Colonization caused several disputes during that time, such as the argument between France and Morocco, but this did not lead to war.

“ The Stage Is Set For War II ” Talks about a story in which the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand occurred. Archduke Franz Ferdinand is the heir to the austrian throne and until the WORLD WAR, during 1914.  Many historians believed that this is the reason for WW1, but there are other reasons for this war since it is in fact, very complicated and not as simple as a cause and effect. Other causes includes, Nationalism, Mutualism, Imperialism and the Alliances.

Causes of WW1: “The Domino Effect” is a term made long after the WW1, but this theory is highly understandable. A domino effect is basically like a literal domino. When a domino is stacked behind another and one of them falls, the rest behind will also fall and the cycle repeats. Another example is when country falls into communism, another one nearby will also fall into communism, and this will continue on until the end of the line/ cycle. Long-story-short, economics/business/farming and etc in other country may affect the ones nearby.
