DAY 2

Why was ww1 the deadliest war?
for the first time, this is the first war they've ever used airplanes. Tanks were made for the first time. They used engines and motors. For the first time navies were big. cannons are so powerful 20 30 km away. imagine ships shooting into your city from the ocean. u have biological and chemical warfare for the first time. Mustard gas, burns your lungs and burn your face up. They have all the dirtiest and nasties weapons. because of that, they made a rule, in ww1, no rules. In ww2 there were so many rules; how to treat prisoners, use gas that they don't use anymore today--. There were guidelines for that.
Submarines were used. even as far as civil war, there were hot air balloons. in wwi, they mad dirigibles that looks like hotdogs- ukt! These were used to observe. until it exploded somewhere, they realized it's dangerous.
Russian were poorly supplied. the war bogged down and began to turn into trench warfare. gas and bombs are ridiculously deadly so it looks stupid to be standing in the middle of a battlefield so they make trenches war. In 1917, it was stalemate, meaning nobody move, it is the weirdest war of history. no one know how to make use of the tanks and so on.
in the very early days of war, something like 60 000 man died in the barbed wire being cut up and stuff. busy cutting the wire, they got shot by machine gun. pretty much nobody survived through the trench. in the end, nobody got anything. Once you’re outside the trench, u must be ready to be bombed out and gas shot.
Living in those trenches was cold, and hungry even a new disease called trench foot.
the greatest weapon of WWi is barbed wire.
